Avicii’s full set from his first Tomorrowland main stage appearance is now on YouTube. He played it on 23 July 2011 in Boom, Belgium. The Avicii Estate, Pophouse and Tomorrowland put the recording out on 28 October 2026, exactly 15 years after “Levels” came out.
The Tomorrowland crowd heard “Levels” that night, three months before its release on 28 October 2011. Tim Bergling was 21 at the time. The track samples Etta James’s “Something’s Got a Hold on Me”, and it went on to become one of the biggest dance records of the decade.
The whole set, all 86 minutes
This is the complete set, not a highlights edit. Tomorrowland’s official YouTube channel posted it on Wednesday afternoon. Avicii’s own channel then shared a short clip pointing fans to it. By Thursday morning, it had passed 170,000 views.
For years, fans mostly had phone clips and radio rips of this set. Now there’s a clean recording from the festival itself. Tomorrowland’s YouTube description calls it “where it all began”.
The release also points fans to Avicii Community, the estate’s official fan hub. In addition, Tomorrowland has put together an Avicii Collection in its online store. You can also stream sets from the festival in the Tomorrowland app.
From Boom to Ibiza
Bergling came back to headline Tomorrowland’s main stage in the years that followed. “Levels” stayed a fixture of his sets. However, he retired from touring in 2016, and he tragically died in April 2018, aged 28.
We’ve covered him on Unorthodox before, including his last show at Ushuaïa Ibiza in August 2016. In contrast, this Tomorrowland recording comes from five years earlier. At that point, “Levels” was still unreleased and he was still building his name.
This set is pure nostalgia! You can’t help but think about how much Tomorrowland and everything else has advanced since 2011! RIP Avicii.
