Four Tet’s Saturday night set at Boomtown 2026 just landed as a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix — and if you were anywhere near Matterley Estate for Radical Redesign, you already know why this one matters.

Kieran Hebden played the festival’s new 20,000-capacity HYDRO XL stage, the first major UK festival main stage powered entirely by green hydrogen. That same weekend the stage also hosted Skrillex, Floating Points and Groove Armada. Hebden’s set was recorded in full for audio and video, then aired as Essential Mix at midnight BST on Saturday 12 September 2026, with the visual version on Radio 1’s YouTube / iPlayer. The 90-minute recording is peak Four Tet festival energy: his own productions and remixes stacked against peers. Expect Joy Orbison, Sammy Virji (including the 925 Four Tet remix), Turnstile’s Look Out For Me (Four Tet remix), PinkPantheress Illegal with Four Tet, KH, G Jones & Eprom, KiNK, a Skrillex ID, then a late run of Lahaina Noon, Looking At Your Pager, Insect Near Piha Beach and You Are Mine. It’s the kind of Essential Mix people are already calling one of 2026’s best — clubby, melodic, and properly paced.

Hit play above and relive Boomtown’s Hydro XL moment properly.
