Boris Brejcha is calling time on The Joker. In a video posted to his official channels on Saturday evening (24 October), the German producer said 2028 will be his final year performing as Boris Brejcha, and that the masked character goes with it at the end of that year.
He recorded the message unmasked, sitting on a sofa with the Joker mask on the table in front of him. Speaking in German, with English subtitles, he started with something his father told him.
“My dad always used to say that you should stop when things are at their best. And that’s why I want to let you know that in 2028, I’ll be writing my final chapter.”
The plan for that last year is simple enough. “We’ll try to play as many shows as possible in 2028 as one huge thank you to all of you,” he said. “And at the end of 2028, we’ll close the chapter of Boris Brejcha and the Joker.”
A 2028 tour, but no dates yet
A second clip in the announcement post on X shows a leather-bound book titled Becoming the Joker: The Story of Boris Brejcha. He opens it to a blank page and writes “Last chapter, Becoming the Joker, Tour 2028” in marker. A third clip is old home video and photos from his childhood.
That’s all there is for now. No cities, venues or on-sale dates have been announced for the farewell run, and he didn’t say what he plans to do after 2028. We’ll add UK dates here as soon as they’re confirmed.
He also thanked his fans for “being by my side throughout all these years”, adding: “You’ve given me so much strength. And that’s why I want to give at least as much of that strength back to you one last time, when we celebrate together one final time in 2028.”
Boris Brejcha in the UK
London has been a big part of the story lately. His most recent headline date in the capital was the Reflections Tour show at Alexandra Palace on 19 September 2026, which promoter Labyrinth billed as his biggest UK show yet. Before that he sold out Hammersmith Apollo and Wembley Arena, according to Labyrinth. With a whole year of farewell shows promised, a London return in 2028 looks likely, but nothing has been confirmed.
Before the final year there’s still 2027 to get through. He’s already on the bill for Igloofest 2027 in Montreal alongside deadmau5 and Fatboy Slim.
Brejcha has spent around two decades building his high-tech minimal sound and the Joker persona, playing only his own productions in his sets. Keep an eye on his official website and YouTube channel for the Last Chapter tour dates.
