Martin Garrix has a new album coming. It’s called MARTY, it’s 14 tracks long and it’s out on Friday 5 March 2027 through Darkroom Records and his own label, STMPD RCRDS.
He told a room of his top Spotify listeners in Amsterdam on Monday night, at the end of a small DJ set ahead of Amsterdam Dance Event, then put it out properly on X on Wednesday afternoon: “MARTY my album is out on march 5th!!!” The title goes back to DJ Marty, the name he played friends’ birthday parties and school events under in Amstelveen before he was Martin Garrix. His deep house alias Ytram is the same word backwards.
Garrix calls this one his first pop album, or “pop-dance, basically”. SENTIO in 2022 was the club record. This time he sings lead himself on four of the songs, which is new for him. Two of those are already out, “Catharina” and “This Dream Of You”. “Catharina” is about his mum, not a girlfriend, and a few of his friends got that wrong too.
Bono had a big hand in that. He heard early demos, coached Garrix on how to deliver a vocal and helped with some of the lyrics. U2 are on the album too, on a song called “Fireflies”.
Who’s on MARTY
These are the guests confirmed so far, and more names are still to come:
- Madonna on “Bizarre”, which is also on her album Confessions II
- U2 on “Fireflies”
- Ed Sheeran, on a song the two first worked on more than ten years ago
- AITANA, on Garrix’s first song in Spanish. It’s still untitled and it’s the next single
- A K-pop group, his first, who haven’t been named yet
According to the press release, it took him more than a decade to get here and he had around 400 songs to choose from before cutting it down to 14. Each track covers a different stretch of his life, starting with his birth on “Catharina”.
He’s also busy at ADE this week. STMPD RCRDS turns ten, and Garrix is playing AFAS Live in Amsterdam on Thursday as part of the celebrations. No tour dates for the album have been announced yet.
We last had Garrix on the site for his b2b with Alesso at Ultra Miami. Keep an eye on martingarrix.com and his announcement on X for the tracklist and the AITANA single.
