RAC takes on this upbeat track by Imagine Dragons, giving it a light, pop electro twist. The vocals still come across strong despite the addition of the airy chords. It reminds us that whilst summer is over, there is another one to look forward to next year and of-course that the sun still shines in winter.
Mike, Huey and Mod team up on this remix cover of Ed Sheeran’s hit ‘Drunk’ I’m not going to tell you it’s better than the original because I love it. There is a Drunk Remix EP which has five different remixes of the track available all of which I like. The way I look at this track is that it is totally separate to the original, that way it doesn’t need comparing. I like the new track and think it will be an Autumn Anthem in the US.
When I first listened to this remix it became apparent that it was a complete re imaging of the a classic. Everyone knows the original in question, ‘Little talks’ is recognisable anywhere. Thomas Jack decided to give it a light, airy almost outdoor feel, achieving this through the use of a pan flutes, jungle conga drums and Caribbean chimes. It comes as no surprise to me that he is from Sydney, Australia. At 20 years old, that makes him the same age as me, and what he has achieved so far is nothing short of noteworthy. Acknowledged by Tiesto and 4 #1s on the Hype Machine charts in the past couple of months! Whilst this remix has no trouble in keeping hold of the emotion from the original, it also adds a stronger feel good vibe. I see no reason it wouldn’t fit into a set or pool party playlist, we will just have to hold onto it until next summer! He has also remixed one of my all time favourite tracks, ‘Teenage Crime’ which you can check out here:
KOAN Sound makes some of the most breathtaking music that I have heard. Their remix of the Halo ‘Red vs Blue’ track was featured in our Summer Stunners playlist. This EP sounds to be no different, ‘Sanctuary’ combines KOAN Sound’s signature bass with atmospheric piano and well structured beats once again. The vocals from Asa are nothing short of amazing either. We also posted an Ed Sheeran remix by KOAN Sound a while ago, both of our previous posts have me hooked and eager for more. If the EP starts off too slowly for you, skip ahead and you will feel the bass, especially on the last track ‘Tetsuo’s redemption’ The EP will come out on October 22nd and can be pre-ordered here: smarturl.it/SanctuaryiTunes
This remix by Monsieur Adi seems very fitting at the moment as we have said goodbye to Summer and now Autumn is in full swing here in the UK. He takes on Two door Cinema Club’s Changing Of The Seasons, the lead single off their next EP, giving it an electro style overhaul.
Breath of Space is the second single from the first Break Science FULL-LENGTH ALBUM ‘Seven Bridges’. The album comes out on PLM on Oct 1st, 2013. Break Science is a duo comprising of Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee who are heavily influenced by New York City itself. This track starts off with a slow atmospheric build, leading with echoing vocals courtesy of Sonya Kitchell into a nice beat.
Radical Something finally released their second album Ride It Out yesterday after working on the project for over a year but all the hard work certainly shows as their isn’t a single bad song. I would describe their sound as the essence of Summer which is slightly saddening as its a reminder that summer is gone. But the album is certainly able to brighten up your mood after a gloomy day! Songs that I particularity like are Pure and Harsh My Mellow but I could equally pick a number of others from the album, it is that good. The group is made up of 3 members which are Loggy, Josh Cocktail and Big Red shown below.
